These five garments represent the flow of a woman’s menstrual cycle over five days. The varying colours signify the differences in blood hue among women during menstruation, reflecting their health.

I experimented with a muslin mock-up to visualize how the final garment might look.

Renders of the garment

The garment is made of waterproof fabric and has a bubble design, like sanitary napkin pores, showing uneven blood distribution. Some bubbles are fully round, representing blood overflow, and they hold differently colored blood to reflect individual health. The woven wooden part represents women’s inner strength in tough times, similar to how they hide emotions for other’s happiness.

The use of wool shows clothing stains from pad leaks, aiming to help people understand and empathize with women’s experiences during this time.
